Sometimes I get down,
sometimes I cannot live,
sometimes I wonder,
is it worth it?
Then I know, it is.
Then I smile, for them.
Then I lift my chin, for them.
They stand there with me,
him giving me strength,
and her by my side.
What would I do without them?
A father's strong pride,
and a mother's loving stride.
Nothing has ever been perfect,
but what would I do,
if it were so?
Their love is all I can ask for,
even though they cannot share it,
with each other.
I know they both love me,
and that anything would be done,
if I but asked,
and if they could but do.
I've never said it enough,
and sometimes I fear,
that I may never be able to,
by chances of fate,
by someone's cruel hand.
But I can still,
and I will,
as they are still with me.
This is my present to them
the two that gave me life,
that made me who I am.
I love you, Mom.
I love you, Dad.
Words could never express it,
I hope this did the job.
